more Sturmey Archer
Another 2 speed kick shift Sturmey Archer hub with a coaster brake buit up onto a Mavic rim, shiney. By coincidence it's ready to be fitted to another Soma Buena Vista mixte frame. Nice new colour, pics coming soon.

not blown home...
got up later than planned, oops. Grabbed a cuppa and headed out the door going North. Got to our destination pretty quick with a hefty tailwind, battled into it all the way home! Starving by the time we got here as we'd neglected to pack anything but our destination gift cake. Good day out though, home just before dusk after re-aquainting ourselves with some not so often visited sloppy trails. Memories of trails destroyed by motorcrossers confused - wonder where they've moved on to now?
Picked up an old pair of suspension forks for the 1x1 the other day - old style SIDs - they suit it well aesthetically which is what matters most of course, skinny steel tubes love a skinny fork! Ages ago I had a pair of Rebas installed - they felt all out of place. All 80mm forks are not equal, some are longer than others and these SIDs feel spot on. They give me a little extra comfort and control without adding most of the weight of a modern fork.Steamroller
A lot of people don't get the current Surly Steamroller (http://surlybikes.com/bikes/steamroller) We think the lower gearing, fatter tyres and upright position are great for riding tracks and general hooning around but most people here in Manchester just don't use their fixed wheel much off road.
So we took a frame and built up our own version. We handbuilt some wheels - Velocity rims on low maintainance sealed bearing hubs, used modern shallow drop bars and popped a single brake on. It has a town friendly 74 inch gear. It looks great with those stealthy black rims but you could choose any Velocity colour from their website here - www.velocitywheels.com - go wild. This is just an example. We can tweek and tune and get it anyway you like it. Major customisation may cost a little more but different colours usually just cost the same, just £730. Yup, same as the 'stock' bike for something a whole lot different. Don't be shy, pop in and take a look. It will only take a week or so to get you on your new ride.
Thanks for checking in.
We've already seen the first snow in Scotland...
